Newport, RI (July 2 - 7, 2025)
We visited Newport July 2-July7th and were docked at Goat Island Marina, which was about a 1/2 mile walk over the bridge back into downtown Newport. The cliff walk was beautiful! I’d advise leaving your dog behind because the rocks are large and a bit tricky to maneuver over at various points. $5 water taxi rides could be hailed from the marina office and picked up throughout the day and evening at request and we enjoyed this frequently as it was only about a 10 min ride through the harbor. 22 Bowen’s on Bowen’s Wharf was one of our favorite meals along with the Mooring Restaurant. Wonderful, fresh seafood and many cute shops to be perused, although we didn’t do too much of this because the harbor and town were packed for the July 4 holiday. Great fireworks if that’s your thang! Zuly doesn’t like fireworks but from where we were on Goat Island, fireworks were far enough away that they didn’t bother her at all :-)
